Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, beaten egg, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, and grated onion. Mix gently with your hands until just combined - avoid overmixing to keep the burgers tender.
- Add the smoked paprika, black pepper, and sea salt to the mixture. Gently incorporate the seasonings without compacting the meat too much.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into patties about 3/4-inch thick. Use your thumb to make a slight indentation in the center of each patty - this prevents them from puffing up during cooking.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the turkey patties and cook for 5-6 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F).
- For extra crispiness, press down gently on the patties during the last minute of cooking to maximize contact with the hot surface.
- Toast your burger buns lightly if desired, then assemble your burgers with your favorite toppings like lettuce, tomato, onion, and a slice of cheese.
Notes
Don't overmix the meat to maintain tenderness. Keep ingredients cold and chill patties for 15-20 minutes before cooking. Use a meat thermometer to ensure burgers reach 165°F internally. Let cooked patties rest for 2-3 minutes before assembling.
