Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Method

Instructions
  1. Season chicken pieces with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Ensure each piece is evenly coated with the seasoning blend.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken pieces and cook for 5-6 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown on all sides. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add remaining olive oil and butter. Add diced onions and cook for 2-3 minutes until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add sliced bell peppers to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until slightly softened. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and stir to combine with vegetables. Reduce heat to medium and cook for another 5-7 minutes until chicken is cooked through and peppers are tender-crisp.
  5. Stir in fresh lemon juice and chopped parsley. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

Use a cast iron skillet for authentic steakhouse sear, don't overcrowd the pan when searing chicken, let chicken rest after seasoning for 10 minutes, adjust heat level with cayenne pepper, serve with mashed potatoes or rice to soak up the butter sauce
