Instructions
- Prepare the vegetables by washing and trimming the green beans. Slice the mushrooms to uniform thickness for even cooking.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the green beans and sauté for 4-5 minutes until they start to develop some color but remain crisp.
- Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and continue cooking for another 3-4 minutes. The mushrooms will release their moisture and begin to brown.
- Reduce heat to medium and add the butter to the skillet. Once melted, add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
- Season with salt and pepper, then toss everything together to coat the vegetables evenly with the garlic butter sauce. Cook for another 2 minutes until the green beans are tender-crisp.
- Remove from heat and stir in fresh parsley and lemon juice if using. Serve immediately while hot.
Notes
Choose cremini mushrooms for best flavor, don't overcrowd the pan to ensure proper sautéing, and add garlic towards the end to prevent burning and bitterness.
