- Bring a large pot of salted water to boil. Add green beans and cook for 2-3 minutes until bright green but still crisp. Immediately transfer to an ice water bath to stop cooking, then drain thoroughly.
- In a large bowl, combine basil pesto, olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Add the blanched green beans and toss until evenly coated.
- Spread the coated green beans in a single layer on your prepared baking sheet. Roast for 12-15 minutes, tossing halfway through, until beans are tender-crisp and slightly golden at the edges.
- Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and optional nuts. Garnish with fresh basil leaves. Serve warm as a vibrant side dish.
