- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- In a large bowl, toss the trimmed green beans with olive oil, salt, and pepper until evenly coated. Spread the beans in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
- Roast for 12-15 minutes, or until the green beans are tender-crisp and starting to develop golden brown spots. Remove from oven and transfer back to the bowl.
- Add the basil pesto, parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and lemon juice to the warm green beans. Toss gently until all beans are evenly coated with the pesto mixture.
- Return to the baking sheet and roast for an additional 3-5 minutes until the pesto is fragrant and the cheese is slightly melted.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves and additional parmesan if desired. Serve immediately while warm.
Notes
For best flavor, use fresh green beans rather than frozen. Make your own pesto for ultimate freshness. Don't overcrowd the baking sheet to ensure beans roast rather than steam.
