Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 3 cups Cheerios cereal
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter (or sunflower seed butter for allergies)
  • 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup chia seeds (optional)
  • 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method

Instructions
  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the peanut butter and honey. Heat for 30-45 seconds until warm and easily stirrable.
  2. Stir in the vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. Add the Cheerios to the mixture and gently fold until all pieces are coated. If using chia seeds or chocolate chips, add them now.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a parchment-lined baking dish and press down firmly with your hands or the back of a spoon.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, then cut into bars or squares. Store in an airtight container.

Notes

Make it a family activity by involving toddlers in mixing and arranging. Double batches freeze well. Use sunflower seed butter if school has nut-free policies. Perfect for portion control in silicone muffin cups.
