Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 2-3 large apples (Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Gala work best)
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter or almond butter
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons chopped nuts (almonds, walnuts, or pecans)
  • 2 tablespoons mini chocolate chips or cacao nibs
  • 2 tablespoons dried cranberries or raisins
  • 1 tablespoon shredded coconut
  • Sprinkle of cinnamon (optional)

Method

Instructions
  1. Wash and core the apples. Slice them thinly (about ΒΌ-inch thick) using a sharp knife or mandoline slicer. Arrange the apple slices on a large plate or platter in a single layer, slightly overlapping them like nacho chips.
  2. In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine the peanut butter and honey. Heat for 15-20 seconds until slightly melted and easy to drizzle. Stir well to combine.
  3. Drizzle the peanut butter mixture over the apple slices. Then sprinkle with chopped nuts, chocolate chips, dried fruit, coconut, and a dusting of cinnamon if using.
  4. Enjoy right away while the apples are crisp and fresh! For best results, serve within 15 minutes of preparation.

Notes

Prevent browning by tossing apple slices with lemon juice if not serving immediately. Customize toppings for kids' preferences. Use sunflower seed butter for nut-free versions. Best enjoyed fresh but can store leftovers in airtight container for up to 2 hours.
