Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 cups tahini (room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon black sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  3. In a large mixing bowl, add tahini, vanilla extract, and kosher salt. Stir until smooth and creamy.
  4. Once the syrup is ready, carefully pour it into the tahini mixture while stirring continuously.
  5. If using, fold in the black sesame seeds.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a lined mold, smoothing the top and pressing down gently.
  7. Allow the halva to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  8. Remove from the mold and slice into squares or rectangles.

Notes

For best results, use high-quality tahini and monitor syrup temperature carefully. Allow halva to cool fully for optimal texture.
