Sesame Chicken and Lo Mein

A delightful dish combining tender chicken, vibrant vegetables, and hearty noodles with a flavorful sesame sauce, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.

  • 1 lb chicken breast, sliced
  • 4 oz lo mein noodles
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (bell peppers, broccoli, carrots)
  • 3 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the lo mein noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet or wok, heat sesame oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Add sliced chicken and cook until browned and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 additional minute.
  5. Add mixed vegetables and stir-fry for 3-5 minutes until tender-crisp.
  6. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce and honey. Pour over chicken and vegetables, stir to combine.
  7. Add cooked lo mein noodles, mixing everything for a couple more minutes.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste, sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions, then serve hot.

Notes

Feel free to customize vegetables or use different proteins. Marinate chicken for extra flavor if desired.
