Sesame Chicken and Lo Mein

A delicious and versatile dish combining tender chicken, fresh vegetables, and savory lo mein noodles in a tasty sesame sauce, perfect for family dinners or gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb chicken breast, sliced
  • 8 oz lo mein noodles
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (bell peppers, broccoli, carrots)
  • 3 tbsp sesame oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Start by cooking the lo mein noodles according to the package instructions. Once done, drain the noodles and set them aside.
  2. In a large pan or wok, heat the sesame oil over medium-high heat, avoiding smoke.
  3. Add the sliced chicken to the hot oil and sauté until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Add the mixed vegetables and minced garlic, stir-frying until the vegetables are tender-crisp, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, honey, sesame seeds, salt, and pepper.
  6. Pour the sauce over the chicken and vegetable mixture, stirring to coat.
  7. Add the cooked lo mein noodles to the pan, tossing to combine and heat through.
  8. Serve on plates, garnished with chopped green onions.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, substitute chicken with tofu or tempeh. You can also adjust the sauce ingredients to taste.
