Roasted Apples with Blue Cheese & Honey Delight

A delightful dish featuring sweet roasted apples paired with tangy blue cheese, crunchy walnuts, and a drizzle of honey. Perfect for dessert or as an appetizer.

  • 4 apples (e.g., Honeycrisp, Fuji, Gala), halved and cored
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup blue cheese, crumbled
  • 1/4 cup toasted walnuts, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons honey (plus more for drizzling)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • Fresh thyme sprigs (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice the apples in half and remove the seeds and core. Place them cut-side up on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Brush the apples with melted butter and sprinkle lemon juice over them. Optionally, add cinnamon. Roast for about 20 minutes.
  4. Fill each apple half with blue cheese and walnuts. Drizzle honey on top.
  5. Return the apples to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is melted.
  6. Allow to cool briefly before serving warm with extra honey and thyme garnishes.
