Nutella Swirl Bread

A delightful treat combining rich chocolate and hazelnut flavors, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

  • For the Streusel Topping:
    • 2 tablespoons Flour
    • 2 tablespoons Brown Sugar
    • ¼ teaspoon Salt
    • 2 tablespoons Butter (Chilled)
    • ½ cup Chopped Toasted Hazelnuts
  • For the Bread:
    • 2¼ cups Flour
    • ½ teaspoon Salt
    • 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
    • 1 cup Sugar
    • ½ cup Butter (Room Temperature)
    • 2 large Eggs
    • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
    • ½ cup Milk
    • ½ cup Nutella
    • 2 tablespoons Cocoa Powder
    • 1 tablespoon Warm Water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan with butter or non-stick cooking spray.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together flour, brown sugar, and salt for the streusel. Cut in chilled butter until crumbly. Stir in hazelnuts and set aside.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking powder.
  5. Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  6. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract.
  7. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the butter mixture, alternating with milk.
  8. In a small bowl, combine Nutella, cocoa powder, and warm water until smooth.
  9. Pour half of the bread batter into the loaf pan, swirl in half of the Nutella mixture, and repeat.
  10. Sprinkle streusel topping over the bread.
  11. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  12. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For added texture, substitute some flour with oats in the streusel. Adjust sugar levels to taste and consider add-ins like chocolate chips or bananas.
