Spooky Witches Brew Stew

A festive and colorful stew perfect for fall gatherings and Halloween parties.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound hot sausage
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups skull mushrooms (or any mushrooms of choice)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 carrots, sliced
  • 3 stalks celery, chopped
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: green food coloring for added spookiness

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, cook the hot sausage and ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot. Cook until the onion is soft.
  3. Stir in the sliced carrots, chopped celery, and skull mushrooms. Cook for about 5 minutes.
  4. Pour in the beef broth and water. Add the Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  5. If you want to make the stew extra spooky, add a few drops of green food coloring.
  6. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 30 minutes.
  7. Taste and adjust the seasoning, if needed.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

Serve with spooky-themed crackers or bread. Garnish with parsley or a swirl of sour cream.
