Irresistibly Soft Christmas Gooey Butter Cookies

These cookies are soft, chewy, and ooze deliciousness with creamy texture and festive sprinkles, perfect for the holidays.

  • 8 oz Full-fat Cream Cheese
  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter (softened)
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 box Yellow Cake Mix
  • 1 cup Holiday Sprinkles
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese and softened butter, mixing until creamy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until combined.
  4. Gradually add the yellow cake mix to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the holiday sprinkles.
  6. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes, if desired.
  7. Scoop out portions of dough and roll into balls.
  8. Roll each ball in powdered sugar until well coated.
  9. Place on a lined baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden around the edges.
  10. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Use full-fat cream cheese for best results and don’t overbake for a soft, gooey texture.
