Homemade Sugar Plums

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Almonds
  • 1/2 cup Honey
  • 1 cup Dried Plums (Prunes)
  • 1 tablespoon Orange Zest
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon Fresh Nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon All-Spice
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 cup Dried Cranberries
  • 1/2 cup Dried Cherries

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Toast almonds on a baking tray for 10-12 minutes until golden.
  2. Let almonds cool, then chop coarsely.
  3. In a large bowl, mix chopped almonds, dried plums, cranberries, cherries, orange zest, cinnamon, nutmeg, all-spice, and vanilla extract.
  4. Drizzle honey over mixture and combine thoroughly with hands.
  5. Roll mixture into small balls (about 1 tablespoon each).
  6. Chill on a parchment-lined tray for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Serve or store in an airtight container.

Notes

Store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks or freeze for up to three months.
