Halloween Salad

A fun and colorful salad featuring mozzarella skulls, perfect for Halloween celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz mozzarella balls (about 16 balls) or a large ball of mozzarella cut into cubes
  • 6 oz mixed salad greens
  • 1 pint sweet cherry tomatoes
  • 3 tbsp fresh basil, thinly sliced
  • Olive oil (good quality finishing oil)
  • Balsamic glaze
  • Flaky sea salt
  • Freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1/2 lemon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Make the Mozzarella Skulls: Flatten one side of each mozzarella ball to make them stable and carve out simple skull shapes using a knife or toothpick.
  2. Assemble the Halloween Salad: In a large bowl, combine salad greens and cherry tomatoes, drizzle with olive oil and balsamic glaze, then sprinkle with sea salt and black pepper. Toss gently to mix.
  3. Top the salad with mozzarella skulls for a spooky presentation.

Notes

For extra flavor, adjust the dressing to taste. Consider adding spooky elements like black olives or pumpkin seeds.
