  • 1 tbsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients by measuring them out for easier mixing.

  3. In another bowl, beat the butter, granulated sugar, and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg (or flaxseed egg) and mix until combined.

  6. Divide the dough into equal parts based on the number of colors desired.
  7. Add gel food coloring to each portion and knead until evenly colored.
  8. Roll out each color of dough to about 1/4 inch thick between parchment paper.
  9. Layer the rolled dough on top of each other, then roll into a tight log.
  10. Chill the log in plastic wrap for at least 1 hour.
  11. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C), slice the log into 1/4-inch rounds, and place on a baking sheet.
  12. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  13. Cool the cookies on a wire rack.

Notes

Use gel food coloring for vibrant hues. Chilling the dough is crucial for maintaining the shape while baking.
