Gyro Meatballs

Delicious Gyro Meatballs featuring traditional Greek flavors make for a perfect appetizer or main dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground lamb or beef
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, garlic, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  3. Mix well until combined.
  4. Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
  5. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown the meatballs on all sides for about 5-7 minutes.
  6. Transfer the meatballs to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until cooked through.
  8. Serve with tzatziki sauce and warm pita bread.

Notes

For added flavor, serve with tzatziki sauce and fresh vegetables. These meatballs are also great for meal prep and can be frozen for later.
