  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Food coloring (green or purple)
  • Halloween-themed pasta or ghoulish decorations (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until bubbly.
  3. Gradually whisk in milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
  4. Add shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
  5. Add a few drops of food coloring to achieve the desired spooky color.
  6. Combine the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce, mixing well.
  7. Serve immediately, topped with Halloween-themed decorations if desired.

Notes

Serve hot and consider adding decorations like plastic spiders or gummy worms for extra fun. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for 3-4 days.
