Garlic Smashed Potatoes

Creamy and garlicky smashed potatoes that add a rustic touch to any meal, perfect as a side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds potatoes
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash the potatoes and cut them into chunks.
  2. Boil the potatoes in a large pot covered with water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  3. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot to allow excess moisture to evaporate.
  4. Add minced garlic, milk, butter, salt, and pepper to the pot with the potatoes.
  5. Use a potato masher to smash the potatoes until combined, keeping some chunks for texture.
  6. Transfer the smashed potatoes to a serving dish and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

For creamier potatoes, substitute milk with heavy cream. Serve hot for the best flavor.
