  • 2 cups Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon Nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cardamom
  • 1/2 teaspoon Clove
  • 1/2 teaspoon Allspice
  • 1 tablespoon Orange Zest
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Icing Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Orange Juice
  • 1 tablespoon Cointreau (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Clove (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, honey, and molasses until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Add the cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cardamom, clove, allspice, orange zest, and vanilla extract; mix well.
  4. Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  5. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place on a lined baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
  8. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  9. Prepare the glaze by mixing icing sugar, orange juice, Cointreau (if using), and ground clove until smooth.
  10. Once cooled, drizzle the glaze over the cookies and let it set for 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

Chilling the dough is important to maintain cookie shape while baking. Feel free to get creative with toppings or variations.
