4 cups sliced apples (about 4–5 medium apples)
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup milk
1/2 cup melted butter
1 tablespoon baking powder
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Peel, core, and slice your apples. In a large bowl, combine them with 1/2 cup sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon to create the filling. Toss until the apples are evenly coated.
In another bowl, whisk together the flour, remaining 1/2 cup sugar, milk, baking powder, and melted butter until smooth and well combined.
Pour the batter into a greased baking dish, then spoon the apple mixture evenly over the top without stirring. The apples will sink as they cook.
Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the apples are bubbly.
Allow the cobbler to cool for a few minutes before serving. Pair it with a scoop of ice cream if desired!
