Deliciously Spiced Pumpkin Madeleines

Soft and fluffy madeleines flavored with pumpkin and warm spices, perfect for fall baking or any sweet craving.

  • 1 cup Pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour)
  • 3/4 cup Granulated sugar (or brown sugar)
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 3 large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons Powdered sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Grease your madeleine pan lightly with butter or non-stick spray.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  4. In a large bowl, mix melted butter and granulated sugar until combined.
  5. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  6. Stir in pumpkin puree and vanilla extract until smooth.
  7. Gradually fold in dry ingredients until just combined.
  8. Spoon batter into the prepared madeleine pan, filling each mold about three-quarters full.
  9. Bake for about 10 to 12 minutes, until edges are golden brown.
  10. Remove from oven, let cool for a couple of minutes, then flip onto a wire rack.
  11. Dust with powdered sugar before serving if desired.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature ingredients and be careful not to over-mix the batter. Try variations such as adding chocolate chips or nuts for a unique twist.
