1 cup Water
1/4 cup Sugar
4 pieces Fresh peaches
1 tablespoon Sugar
1 tablespoon Powdered sugar
1/4 cup Mochi starch
Instructions
Prepare the Peaches: Wash and peel the peaches. Remove pits and slice; sprinkle with 1 tablespoon sugar and let sit.
Making the Mochi Dough: Combine glutinous rice flour and 1/4 cup sugar in a bowl. Gradually add warm water to create a smooth batter. Let it sit covered for 30 minutes.
Cooking the Mochi: Steam the mochi batter in a heatproof dish for 20-25 minutes until glossy and bouncy. Cool for a few minutes.
Shaping the Mochi: Dust a surface with mochi starch, turn out mochi and stretch into a rectangle. Cut into squares.
Wrapping the Peaches: Flatten each mochi square, place a peach half in the center, and wrap it around, sealing the edges.
Dusting and Serving: Dust finished mochi with powdered sugar and serve on a plate.
Notes
Use ripe peaches for the best flavor, and you can store leftover mochi in an airtight container for up to 2-3 days in the refrigerator.
