Delicious Noodle Kugel

A comforting noodle kugel with sweet and savory flavors, perfect for special occasions or weeknight dinners.

  • 12 oz wide egg noodles
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 16 oz sour cream
  • 16 oz cottage cheese
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 4 large eggs
  • 4 Tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 Tbsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (additional)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (additional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Bring a large pot of water to a boil, add the wide egg noodles and kosher salt, and cook until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sour cream, cottage cheese, and cream cheese, blending until smooth.
  4. Add the eggs, melted butter, vanilla, 3/4 cup sugar, and 1 tablespoon cinnamon to the cheese mixture and mix thoroughly.
  5. Gently fold in the cooked noodles until uniformly mixed.
  6. Grease a large baking dish and transfer the noodle mixture to the dish, spreading it evenly.
  7. Combine the additional sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and sprinkle over the top.
  8. Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour until golden brown and set. A toothpick should come out clean.
  9. Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature. Pairs well with various main dishes or as a stand-alone dish with toppings like apple sauce or powdered sugar.
