Delicious Christmas Sprinkle Buttermilk Bread

A festive and colorful loaf of bread made with buttermilk and sprinkles, perfect for the holiday season.

  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour (Gluten-free flour works as a substitute.)
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter (Can be replaced with vegetable oil for dairy-free.)
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 cup Buttermilk (Can be substituted with milk and lemon juice.)
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 cup Red and Green Sprinkles
  • 2 tablespoons Coarse Sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a loaf pan with butter or cooking spray.
  3. In a bowl, whisk the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, beat the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
  6. Gradually add buttermilk and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
  7. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  8. Fold in the sprinkles gently.
  9. Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  10. Sprinkle coarse sugar on top.
  11. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  12. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Serve warm with butter or spread. Store wrapped in plastic for 2-3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
