Crispy Vegetarian Tofu Bacon

A quick and easy recipe for crispy tofu bacon that offers a healthy and delicious alternative to traditional bacon.

  • 7 ounces Extra Firm Tofu
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Pure Maple Syrup (Optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika

Instructions

  1. Drain the tofu and press it to remove excess moisture for about 15 minutes.
  2. Slice the pressed tofu into thin strips.
  3. In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, maple syrup, and smoked paprika.
  4. Marinate the tofu strips in the mixture for about 5 minutes.
  5. Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  6. Cook the marinated tofu slices in the skillet for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove from the skillet and place on paper towels to absorb excess oil.

Notes

Press the tofu well for extra crispiness and avoid overcrowding the pan while cooking.
