Crispy Quick Bang Bang Shrimp

A delightful and crispy appetizer featuring shrimp coated in a savory blend of spices and served with a sweet and spicy sauce.

  • 1 pound Raw shrimp, deveined & peeled
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup Thai sweet chili sauce
  • 1 clove Minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 2 tablespoons Sour cream
  • 2 teaspoons Lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup Cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon Paprika
  • Oil (canola, olive, or avocado) for frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Shrimp: Rinse and dry the raw shrimp thoroughly.
  2. Make the Sauce: Mix mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, minced garlic, Sriracha, sour cream, and lemon juice until smooth.
  3. Set Up Coating Station: Prepare milk in one bowl, and mix flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and paprika in another.
  4. Coat the Shrimp: Dip shrimp in milk, then coat with the flour mixture.
  5. Heat the Oil: Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat to 325°F.
  6. Fry the Shrimp: Fry shrimp in hot oil for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Serve: Drizzle sauce over shrimp or serve it on the side for dipping, garnishing as desired.

Notes

For best results, use fresh shrimp and ensure they are dry before coating. Fry in batches to maintain the oil temperature.
