Crispy Chebureki

Delicious fried pastries filled with juicy, seasoned meat, originating from the Caucasus region.

Ingredients

  • 500 grams Plain Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 200 milliliters Water
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil
  • 1 medium Brown Onion, finely diced
  • 500 grams Fatty Ground Beef
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon White Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Dill
  • 500 milliliters Oil for Frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Create a well and add vegetable oil and gradually pour in water while mixing until combined.
  2. Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until smooth, then let it rest covered for 30 minutes.
  3. Prepare the filling by mixing diced onion, ground beef, and spices in a bowl until well combined.
  4. Divide the rested dough into 8-10 portions and roll each into thin circles.
  5. Place a spoonful of filling on one half of each circle, fold over, and seal the edges.
  6. Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the Chebureki for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  7. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.

Notes

Serve with sour cream or yogurt for dipping. Perfect as snacks or appetizers.
