Creamy Pesto Pasta

A delightful dish combining vibrant flavors of fresh basil with creamy textures, perfect for family dinners or quick lunches.

  • 8 oz pasta (such as penne or fettuccine)
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 cup pine nuts (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions in salted boiling water. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a food processor, combine basil, parmesan, garlic, and pine nuts (if using) until finely chopped.
  3. With the processor running, slowly drizzle in olive oil and blend until smooth.
  4. In a large skillet over medium heat, pour in heavy cream and add the pesto, stirring well. Heat through without boiling.
  5. Add the cooked pasta and toss to combine, ensuring it’s well-coated with sauce.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve warm, garnishing with additional parmesan if desired.

Notes

For serving, consider adding grilled chicken or shrimp for extra protein, and garnish with fresh herbs.
