Creamy Beef and Shells

A comforting weeknight dinner featuring tender pasta shells, flavorful beef, and a creamy sauce, ready in just 30 minutes.

  • 8 ounces Medium Pasta Shells
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • 1 small Sweet Onion
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon Italian Seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon Dried Parsley (optional for garnish)
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • 2 tablespoons All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 cups Beef Stock
  • 1 cup Marinara Sauce
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • 1 cup Sour Cream
  • to taste Kosher Salt
  • to taste Black Pepper
  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese (shredded)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta shells in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté for 2-3 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart and cooking until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  4. Season the beef with Italian seasoning, dried parsley, oregano, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for another minute.
  5. Sprinkle flour over the mixture, stir well, then gradually pour in beef stock while stirring. Add marinara sauce, heavy cream, and sour cream; simmer for about 5 minutes until thickened.
  6. Add the drained pasta shells to the skillet, stir to coat evenly, and heat through for 2 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted. Serve hot.
