Classic Savory Stuffing

A comforting and versatile stuffing recipe that enhances holiday meals, perfect as a side dish or as a filling for meats.

Ingredients

  • Day-old or toasted bread cubes
  • Aromatic herbs (thyme, sage, rosemary)
  • Onions, chopped
  • Celery, chopped
  • Butter
  • Broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat, then add onions and celery. Sauté until soft, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine bread cubes with the sautéed onion and celery mix.
  4. Add your choice of aromatic herbs and mix well.
  5. Moisten the mixture with broth until the desired consistency is reached.
  6. Transfer to a greased baking dish and press down lightly.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until crisp on top.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Optional: Customize with nuts, dried fruit, or sausage for added flavor. Ensure not to over-moisten the mixture.
