Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Twists

Delicious twists combining cookie dough and flaky pastry, perfect for any occasion.

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • ½ cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • (Optional) 1 tablespoon chopped nuts (pecans or almonds)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out puff pastry on a floured surface.
  2. In a bowl, combine chocolate chips, brown sugar, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Add nuts if desired and mix well.
  3. Cut pastry into rectangles (4 inches wide, 6 inches tall) and spoon cookie dough mixture down the center.
  4. Make diagonal cuts along the sides of the pastry and fold strips over to create twists.
  5. Brush with beaten egg and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Cool and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
