Homemade Blue Corn Tortillas

Delicious and versatile blue corn tortillas that are easy to make from scratch.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups blue corn masa
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 cups warm water

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the blue corn masa and the salt. Mix well.
  2. Slowly pour in the warm water, mixing until a moist dough forms.
  3. Divide the dough into small balls, about the size of a golf ball.
  4. Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Flatten each dough ball using a tortilla press or rolling pin between sheets of wax paper.
  6. Cook the flattened tortillas on the skillet for 1-2 minutes until light brown spots appear; flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
  7. Keep the cooked tortillas warm under a kitchen towel and repeat with remaining dough.

Notes

For best results, keep tortillas covered after cooking to maintain warmth and moisture. Experiment with thickness for preferred texture.
