Baked Eggs Napoleon

A delightful dish that combines the richness of eggs with flaky puff pastry, perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a light dinner.

  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated cheese (such as Gruyère or cheddar)
  • 1 package puff pastry (2 sheets)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped fresh herbs (such as chives or parsley) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut it into squares.
  3. Place the pastry squares on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, salt, and pepper.
  5. Create small indents in the center of each pastry square.
  6. Fill each indent with the egg mixture, being careful not to overfill.
  7. Sprinkle cheese over the top of the filled pastry squares.
  8. Return the filled pastries to the oven and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the eggs are set.
  9. Garnish with fresh herbs and serve warm.
