Apple Steel Cut Oatmeal

A warm and comforting breakfast made with steel-cut oats, diced apples, and cinnamon, perfect for staying full longer.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup steel cut oats
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup milk (or almond milk)
  • 1 apple, diced
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons honey (or maple syrup)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring water and milk to a boil.
  2. Stir in the steel cut oats and a pinch of salt.
  3. Reduce heat to low, cover, and let simmer for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. In the last 5 minutes, add diced apples and cinnamon.
  5. Sweeten with honey or maple syrup if desired.
  6. Serve warm with optional toppings.

Notes

For creamier oatmeal, cook longer and add more liquid as needed. Feel free to experiment with spices and add protein for a nutritional boost.
